Environmental / Health & Safety Courses

Health & Safety Courses  

CMI is the leading authority in Health & Safety courses which meet the industry standard to become a Health & Safety officer/practitioner. There are two excellent course options, the Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and and Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.

Both courses are offered by classroom learning, one night per week and also by online learning. It is recommended to start at the Certificate first before progressing to do the Diploma.

The demand for qualified Environmental Managers has increased to the extent many previously qualified Health & Safety professionals are pursing this qualification as the skills and knowledge between the two professions get closer. For more information see below link.

Environmental Management Jobs & Careers

64% of CMI students doing the Environmental Management Diploma course are successful in getting a job within two years of completion of the course. Graduates have gained wide and varied environmental, health safety jobs in the following roles:  

Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Chemicals, Engineering, Water, Waste, local authorities, and Science. Opportunities fall broadly into two areas: jobs relating to management and conservation and jobs in protection and control. There has also been an increase in opportunities linked to sustainability. Past students now work as, Environmental Consultants, Environmental Auditors, Environmental Inspectors, Sustainability Advisers, Environmental Engineers, Quality officers, Health & Safety, Nature Conservation Officer and Waste Management officer, c
ontracting environmental firms, renewable energy manufucturers and services, environmental planning officer, green investment planning, environmental ecologist, ecological modeler, environmental chemist, conservation scientist, forester, hydrologist or geoscientist. Many of these jobs are with private firms and nonprofit organisations and others with the public sector.
